What is a CPBA?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Community Protection and Benefit Agreements (CPBAs), also known as Good Neighbor Agreements (GNAs), help ensure resource projects provide protections and share benefits fairly with local communities. They support social, environmental, and economic goals, and are built through mutual consent. Revenue-sharing and flexible, community-led decision-making are key to their success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is the goal?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The City of Nogales, the Town of Patagonia, Santa Cruz County and South32 (collectively known as the Signatories) are collaborating to develop a Community Protection and Benefit Agreement related to the Hermosa Project located near Patagonia, Arizona. Their shared goal is responsible development that reflects community needs and values. As progress is made, the Signatories will keep the public updated and actively seek community input through meaningful public engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
