Efforts this month focused on strengthening early commitments (Early Actions Agreement), planning long-term protections and benefits, and preparing for upcoming community engagement milestones.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Highlights<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Community Early Action Funding<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Signatories conducted a review of the\u00a0initial\u00a0draft Early Actions Community Investment Funding Agreement. This document\u00a0establishes\u00a0an agreement for South32 to finance early actions\u00a0identified\u00a0by the University of Arizona Asset Inventory, Gap Analysis, and Innovative Pathways and local Topic-Specific Focus Groups conducted in 2025.\u00a0It\u00a0enables\u00a0Early Action benefits\u00a0to be funded by South32 and implemented by the Signatories, including the Protections Roadmap.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Early Actions: Building momentum while planning ahead<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Early Actions\u00a0Community Investment Agreement is a standalone agreement, separate from the CPBA, which was developed based on the University of Arizona Asset Inventory, Gap Analysis, and Innovative Pathways study, insights from Topic-Specific Focus Groups, and\u00a0input\u00a0from\u00a0the Signatories. These actions are designed to address near-term priorities while\u00a0establishing\u00a0a strong foundation\u00a0for longer-term protections and community benefits. The hope of the Signatories is that the Early Actions Community Investment Funding Agreement will be ready to sign in early March.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Signatories reaffirmed that community input will remain central as the CPBA progresses.&nbsp;Opportunities for public participation in later phases are&nbsp;anticipated&nbsp;following the release of the Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS)&nbsp;expected March 6th.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Roadmap transparency and access<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2028To support clarity and shared understanding, Signatories have posted the full Roadmap Report\u00a0on\u00a0www.cpba-hermosa.org\u00a0for\u00a0public awareness.\u00a0They will also post\u00a0upcoming public meetings or presentations, with dates to be announced.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Phase\u00a01\u00a0Protections Expert\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A Request for Proposals for\u00a0an\u00a0expert\u00a0to implement the Protections Roadmap developed by Spheros\u00a0was distributed to 15 qualified firms.
